Final Project Proposal (ART 245: Intro to Digital Media)

I plan to submit a project for the iraqimemorial.org. I plan to create a visually compelling montage, complete with both images and words to memorialize citizen deaths in the War. I will use images and historical content, including newspaper clippings and family photos. If possible, I would like to incorporate an audio element of interviews to accompany the visual aspect.

    Glad you a taking on the challenge of creating a memorial proposal. A montage is a good first idea - don't be afraid to let it evolve. Have you thought about the ideal context for the piece? What if you had complete control over where this piece would be experienced? What would you propose? A billboard? A TV spot? Glad to talk about this further with you if you like - don't be afraid to think big! Feel free to share any thoughts or progress with me and/or Jeremy.

    I agree with Joe that you should really brainstorm and dream big about what form this montage/collage would take - what would the best way for people to take in the combination of images (are these video also?), sounds and historical content be as a memorial? Pretend that the person/group you are proposing to has unlimited resources to make this project come true - what would you do then? I also think that your professional and educational focus makes this an excellent choice for a final project for you.
